Carol’s passion for enhancing staff wellbeing, particularly in reducing burnout, stems from her doctoral research into occupational burnout. Her commitment to evidence-based practice is evident in the numerous publications she has authored, contributing to advancements in this vital area.

Recently, Carol co-founded the Educational Psychology Service School Staff Wellbeing Project for Northern Ireland's Education Authority. This initiative has successfully trained over 200 schools to foster supportive and nurturing environments for staff wellbeing. Carol has most recently provided staff and student wellbeing training at Queen’s University Belfast.

In addition to her practical work, Carol is trained in a range of evidence-based approaches, including Appreciative Inquiry, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Practice. She regularly delivers training in these methods to workplaces seeking to enhance staff wellbeing and professional development.

Drawing on her extensive experience in occupational psychology, teaching, educational psychology, and academia, Carol creates bespoke training packages for organisations. These programmes aim to improve staff and student wellbeing, strengthen supervision and coaching practices, and ultimately create a more positive and productive culture.
